Erasing or files and Data
Customer:
· Authorizes Computer Perfect to format/recover customer’s hard drive and permanently erase files and data if required in the course of repair.
· Understand that formatting/recovering a computer hard drive will permanently erase all files and data
· Accepts sole responsibility for backing up files and data
· Acknowledges that Computer Perfect will bear no responsibility for loss of files or data, loss of use, disruption of business activities or other consequential damages
· Acknowledges that, if Computer Perfect exercises its buyout option under any extended warranty, Computer Perfect will destroy all files and data on customer’s hard drive
Software Problems
Customer:
· Acknowledges that there will be a $40 minimum diagnostic fee payable if the is no warrantable hardware defect found.
· Accepts sole responsibility for software problems that are found to be affecting the operation of customer’s computer
· Acknowledges that software problems are not covered by manufacturer’s warranty or any extended warranty
· Acknowledges that if backup services are requested, Computer Perfect will not be responsible for viruses existing in folders, that prevent proper backup of files and data
Recovery disks
Customer acknowledges that customer is required to provide recovery/operation system CDs and passwords for all repairs
Guarantee
Computer Perfect guarantees work performed for 30 days.
In-Home/Office Services
Customer Responsibilities
An adult (18 years and older) must be present during the entire installation or repair process. If the technician arrives at the scheduled time and no adult is present or if the adult leaves prior to the service being completed, the technician will depart and you will be subject to the stated service charges. You must be available to type in all passwords for security purposes. Computer Perfect accepts NO responsibility for data loss, loss of use, disruption of business activities, or other consequential damages. Customer is aware and agrees that formatting/recovering the hard drive will permanently erase all files and data.
Liability is limited only to the work performed
Data migration to a new PC or hard drive is available for an additional fee. Customer is responsible for the removal of any packing materials or other trash. Technical service fees are nonrefundable once the service process has begun (any cancellations must be completed prior to actual service to receive pro-rated refund. Customers will be charged IN FULL for appointments missed or late by more than 10 minutes.
Tasks that must be completed prior to installation or repair
Customer is solely responsible for proper backup of data and files. Please backup all vital data files prior to service being performed. Any hardware device, components, peripherals, software or cabling needed for the installation must be purchased and supplied by the customer. If network connectivity is desired for multiple devices, customer must supply router, hub, modem or switch with adequate number of ports to support the required number of devices. ISP/Internet of home network connection must be activated and working properly prior to any related installation.
All equipment being installed must be located in the general area where the installation is taking place.
The technician must be given immediate access to the equipment so the service can begin as scheduled.
Customer is responsible for providing power cords and surge protectors.
Customer must have available all legally licensed software and media that may be required.
Service Warranty
Computer Perfect warranties its workmanship for a period of 30 days from the service date. This includes issues with the original configured installation setup by the technician. Computer Perfect is not responsible for issues due to setting changes, new software upgrades, ISP connection issues, relocation, viruses or spyware issues or misuse. Additional trip not covered by the warranty will be subject to charges, Computer Perfect warranty is only valid on virus, spyware and adware removal service if Computer Perfect technician verifies proper protection against such threats.
Minimum System Requirements for Networking
Please check to see that your computer meets these minimum system requirements.
· Windows disk of restore disk must be available with key code at time of installation
· A Broadband or cable connection must be active before the installer arrives; satellite-delivered broadband is not eligible for this service
· All computers to be networked must be virus free and all devices being connected must be in good working condition
· Internet connection, router and primary PC must be in the same room
